Northwest (Bachman) Transfer Station

About this transfer station

Northwest (Bachman) Transfer Station is a transfer station in University Park, Dallas County, Texas. It is operated by City of Dallas. At a transfer station you drop off your trash and bulky items; the waste is then consolidated and trucked to a landfill. Transfer stations are usually closer to town than a landfill and are often the easier place to unload a pickup or trailer. Open to Dallas residents and small commercial customers only.

Before you haul a load here

• Secure and cover your load. Most facilities charge extra or turn away untarped loads.
• Separate items. Keep tires, appliances, mattresses, electronics and yard waste apart from household trash — they're usually charged or unloaded separately.
• Bring ID and payment. Many public sites check residency, and some take cash or check only.
• Leave hazardous waste at home. Paint, chemicals, batteries, propane tanks and motor oil go to household hazardous waste drop-offs, not the regular tipping floor.
